Sun rise

March 23, 2018

GoldenGateBridgeThe sun rise  over San Francisco Bay is always amazing. The water is a black hole during the night then appears as a lifeblood of the Earth’s circulatory system in the morning, the bay’s estuaries branching off into hundreds of miles of blue. It also portends an energy that seems boundless out here, a vast array of people, plants, environs and ever-changing weather. I am at a crossroads on this trip: Break boundaries that I’ve cocooned myself in, yet pay heed to the boundaries that keep me safe. After 10 years, the balance needs to be found. Today we head out of San Francisco toward the foothills of the Sierra’s – sea level to the Never Never Land before the clouds. The drive we’re taking will be a new route for me. Instead of traversing all of San Fran, we’ll head east then north and hopefully through Lodi and wine country I have yet to see – thus another barrier. As I write, however, my body craves nourishment, so breakfast will be forthcoming. Break a safe boundary today and see what happens. It might make you smile.

Don’t get stuck in Lodi. (Remember the CCR song?)
