And then all went quiet

March 17, 2020

TelevisionPictureIn the last blog, I gleefully warbled about the upcoming year and accompanying excitement – and then all went quiet. Really quiet. In the midst of our social suppression mitigating the spread of disease, new contemplations set in. Like, has my life changed now? Not really. The only change is not being able to go to the gym. Christine still has thousands of patients, hundreds of employees, and six counties to worry about, so I guess you could say, my full time job is making sure our life runs smoothly during her heightened stress levels. Again, being retired has been a wonderful advantage for me to take on such a role – much like I did with my father-in-law for five years when he was living in town. My writing studio NewStudio2continues to be a bastion of mindful relaxation, and I’ve picked up some volunteering to shop for some high-risk shut-ins. Friends need to be better friends right now. The Penny continues in line edit  but has slowed due to circumstances for my editor. I’m now thinking of a spring 2021 release instead of fall, 2020. I hope wherever you are, you remain safe and shrouded. Please don’t tempt the temptress thinking you can skirt your way through this unscathed. I suspect we will all know people who succumb to the virus, and many of you may get very ill. But remember many of generations past have lived through more dangerous events and far greater risks, and then all went quiet.Andersonville 3
