After a summer of events and more events, there is one more on the horizon that should not go without discussion. The Friends of the Petoskey Library have invited me to be their guest speaker at the annual fundraising dinner on Tuesday, October 13th at 6:00 p.m, at the Bay View Country Club. The book-talk will focus on the Super PAC trilogy and behind the scenes nuances that only one can know if they attend. There will be discussion, as well, of the super PAC enhancement of campaign finance and what people don’t seem to realize is happening to their democratic process. Perhaps they do but aren’t sure what to do about it. In any case, this event is great for the community and great for the library since the Friends are so invested in donating time, energy and resources to the Petoskey District Library.
