December is upon us and in 2015 it will certainly be a new year with new books. There is an expanded collection of short stories that will be published for the summer reading season, and with any luck, the new novel should be out in time for the Holiday season next fall and winter. It’s fascinating to live a life converting emotions to thoughts and thoughts to words and then watching them fly off as new mayflies spring forth from the streams to gather in a cloud and disappear into thin air. Poof! You only hope what you pen provides breath in the eternal struggle for life. There are days you’re convinced it does; then there are days you assume the world revolves and planets conspire to ignore you and everything you think or care about. That is when the true fortitude of the passion burns bright, and you remember you began to write for you and not the masses. At least that’s what I keep telling myself until the next time I have to come face to face with the business of writing…then I shall ponder these thought all over again. To keep writing is the morphine.
