Fracking and the Super PAC

How do fracking and super PAC’s go together? Easy. The oil and gas groups are beginning to lose ground at local and state levels slowing a rapid rise in new drilling. In Colorado and Pennsylvania the public voice is winning – at least for now – but in Pennsylvania, even the state is fighting its own Supreme Court.  How does this work with super PAC’s? If oil and gas continue to lose public credibility and confidence, the best recourse is to take advantage of super PAC’s. For instance, in Louisiana, a couple has found out how easy it is to be aggressive with candidate funding. Under Citizens United, the ability to alter elections has become easy. What once was illegal is now legal. What once allowed the common man a voice, now allows the common corporation a greater voice. Oil and gas need only to continue their huge increases in lobbying and candidate funding to begin changing local, state, and federal elections. Whatever your view on both subjects may be, understand the “freedom” some groups talk about protecting is actually deteriorating – and it’s not the government lobbying for the loss. It’s probably your employer.
