Tea Party Money: What do you pay for?

May 6, 2014

JennyBethMartinPACsThe Washington Post has published a series of articles by Matea Gold concerning the actual use of political action committee money by the Tea Party: in summary, what do you pay for if you give to the party? (Washington Post and Matea Gold)   There is no doubt a business has expenses, and there is no doubt that super PAC’s are a business, but I don’t believe people equate these businesses with expenditures connected to salaries of administrators and the like. When I was in charge of PAC monies, almost 100% went to candidates due to rules. Well guess what? The rules have been thrown out. When you give money to some, if not most, of these super PAC’s, they run like a for-profit business. I would suggest if you are true to your party, volunteer and be careful who you sign a check for. I doubt you’re wanting to buy the next Mercedes for the Executive Director. What would you do with your Tea Party money?
