As reported earlier on this site, more and more local elections will be won and lost using Super PAC’s from national groups – or maybe international groups. Wouldn’t you want the NSA to be safeguarding elections using money from foreign countries? Who can say, with any certainty, the money doesn’t come from some outside influence? The reporting needs are scant, and as long as the money makes its way to the candidate and the election is won, do the people in that locale really care who is influencing who? A local election in Kentucky has used some money, and the article in Courier-Journal does a nice job exhibiting how the money is spent: http://blogs.courier-journal.com/politics/2013/06/09/gop-super-pac-a-factor-in-56th-district-race/. We continue to urge all locales within the United States to follow your local elections carefully.
On another note, you’re aware that the latest novels from Mitchell Street Press (Super PAC Strikethrough , and Super PAC Nine-Day Shadow) connect work by the NSA to federal and state politics, elections, and world-wide money. They have been around a very long time doing exactly what we all think they should be doing. Is it all good? Most likely depends on your deep-seated opinion, but for the most part, the NSA has our security as a priority. Unless you are really paranoid, or worried about something in your life that might be found effecting the security of these United States, relax. I get the whole Orwellian concept and worry, but this new phone and Internet issue has been blown way out of proportion. We do still have due process in this old US of A, and I guarantee your rights are preserved.
